Since it’s inception in 2005, Kindred has grown to become one of Melbourne’s premier rehearsal venues.

It was designed and developed by Simon Hodgson, with a desire to not only be a professional and productive space, but to be a multi use facility that provides a platform for community art and creative projects. Kindred is constantly proactive in enjoying and developing with the local community.

Kindred has enjoyed hosting Australian Womens’ circus events (2005), launch of the Maribyrnong Big West Festival in 2005, All Ages Freeza events,  Kindred Battle of the Bands, Council Open Day, and more recently has started hosting monthly all ages band nights. Spirit West has also recently finished a graffiti art project in the car park.

Kindred is constantly expanding and finding new ways to employ the soul and the vibe of the community around it, in becoming a integral part of Victoria’s musical landscape...
